Library

The elementary library program at Greater Johnstown consists of an 18-week course based on current PSLA standards. In this program, students are exposed to a variety of literature and are taught the basics on how to navigate the library. Assignments are usually worked on collectively as a group and consist of topics such as fiction/nonfiction, alphabetical order, genres, fractured fairytales, and many other topics. Mrs. Hindman also incorporates time for read alouds and poetry to help develop the students’ love of reading and books. Students are also able to check out books.
