Mrs. Melana Simms is the School Counselor at East Side Elementary School. Mrs. Simms earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work at Slippery Rock University. She earned her Master's of Education in School Counseling at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Simms leads East Side Elementary School's Student Assistance Program.  She is a member of East Side Elementary School's School-Wide Positive Behavior Support Team, Family Engagement/Incentive Team, Attendance Team and RTii Team.  She has completed Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training, "More Than Sad" Suicide Prevention Training, and she is a member of the school district's crisis team.
